2023 Top Ten: Toddler Apartment Summer Play

A special list for those without a designated home outdoor space, this post highlights ways to have fun on a balcony or indoor play items that focus on summer fun! Click on each item’s description for a link to purchase.

1.Sensory Bin

This sensory bin comes with everything included and is ocean themed, but you can always make your own! We recommend this one specifically for the variety of textures and theme, but for an older toddler who can safely play with the beads.

2. Bubble Gun

This bubble gun is no joke- it shoots out about 100 bubbles every few seconds, so we recommend using it in the bathtub or outside.

3. Bath Markers

We love this brand for its nontoxic products, and the bath markers are no exception! Take an early bath to beat the heat and have a color party!

4. Water Table

A water table is great for a balcony, but it can also be used indoors. If you chose this, we recommend laying down a sheet of towels or waterproof tarp to catch the inevitable spills. For a really hot day, fill it with ice cubes!

5. Tape

One of the most versatile kiddo toys, tape can be used to make a hopscotch game, let kiddo create shapes or a cityscape, and much more!

6. Propagation Station

A propagation station is a great way to talk about plant growth and watch something grow in real time! Clippings from indoor plants or herbs grow well in these.

7. Indoor Scavenger Hunt

This kit includes a variety of images and ways to play. For toddler kiddos, we recommend asking them to find a certain item or color that matches the cards. It can be fun for hours!

8. Fort Kit

A glowing fort kit is a cool way to make a rainy day special! This kit will require parent help to put together, but will definitely make some new memories!

9. Door Basketball Goal

If your kiddo loves basketball, this goal is a great way to get some indoor time in! We put it on a sturdy chair or in a secured dresser drawer to make the basket toddler-height.

10. Decorate your Own Bird Feeder

If you have access to a tree or balcony, decorating your own bird feeder and then watching the birds enjoy it is the perfect way to spend a summer morning!
