Inspire Creativity: How to Make a Nature Soup Kit

This kit is a great way to inspire independent play. You can collect the items for summer play or give them as a gift for a friend!

Growing up, making nature soup was our favorite part of spring. Having supplies helps, of course, but all the spring blooms were the perfect materials!

Here’s how to package up a Nature Soup Kit for a kiddo as a general gift or as a birthday gift:

First, for Nature Soup, kiddo is gathering items in their yard to serve as the ‘ingredients’ like grass, dandelion flowers, bark, small sticks, general flowers, rocks, dirt, etc.

To have the best supplies, you can visit thrift stores or get cheap versions at any regular store.

We recommend including the following in your Nature Soup Kit:

  • Watering can to add in water to the Soup
  • Large bowl or soup pot to serve as the ‘mixing pot’
  • Ladle or large spoon to stir (this can also be a stick)
  • An apron is a great addition to save clothes and add to the ‘chef’ vibes
  • Smaller bowls to ‘serve’ the Soup
  • A muffin tin is a great addition to help ‘mix’ and store smaller ‘ingredients’
  • A small chalkboard to list the ‘Soup of the Day’

Add all the items into the large bowl and add a bow on top, and you’ve got a great gift that will be used for years to come!
